Weeded Warrior began on 2016 with many veterans returning from conflict and suffering the side effects of polypharmacy. Veterans from 3 services approached Government and presented evidence and data to DVA. In 2017, in a landmark decision, DVA approved access to medicinal cannabis access for chronic pain. Since then hundreds of veterans have accessed medicinal cannabis and reduced reliance on pharmaceutical medications. Today weeded warrior continues the fight, campaigning Government for better access, education and awareness to break the stigma of medicinal cannabis.
